Replace Your Dead Car Battery Today

Replaced My Car Battery Fast Before A Big Trip!

I was suppose to drive up to Lake Superior with my wife for a long weekend. We had everything in our car packed up, but when we went to start it... nothing! Thankfully, I was able to jump it and bring my car to Victory. They got us a new battery quickly and we were able to make our trip!

Vehicle Won't Start? Maybe It Is time to replace your car or Truck battery!

Car batteries don't last forever and some will fail at a bad time. Whether in extreme heat or freezing cold, there's nothing worse than being stranded with no way of getting your vehicle moving again- but these situations can be prevented if you know what signs indicate that changes need to happen for starters like checking voltage or replacing terminal cables when they look worn down.

Did You Know... Some Main Reasons Your Car Battery Failed

  • Headlights or Dome-light left on overnight
  • alternator went bad; no charge
  • Corroded Battery Terminals
  • Parasitic electrical drains

Which car battery type is right for you?

Standard flooded car battery

Cars are powered by an engine that is, at its heart, a large battery. The most common type of car battery has been the standard flooded one for years because it's generally more economical than some less commonly used types like sealed batteries or lithium ion ones.

Who Should Use A Standard Car Battery?

Standard flooded car batteries are perfect for vehicles with normal electric needs.

Standard Flooded Car Battery Advantages

  • Generally reliable starting power
  • Suitable for all climates
  • Lowest-cost battery option

Standard Flooded Car Battery Disadvantages

  • Limited power capacity
  • Limited cycling capacity
  • Shorter battery life

Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) car Battery

AGM is an advanced battery that provides superior power and performance. AGM car batteries are extremely resistant to vibration and are leak free. AGM offers better charging performance than standard batteries. If you want a premium battery, you want AGM.

Who Should Use An AGM Car Battery?

You should use an AGM car battery if you have high power demands for your vehicle as well as increased electrical needs from things like DVD players, seat heaters and other electrical gadgets. Also if where you live is very hot or very cold an AGM battery is probably a good choice.

AGM Battery Advantages

  • Up to 200% longer battery life
  • Designed for extreme hot and cold climates
  • Power high electrical loads
  • Faster recharge
  • Vibration resistance
  • No leak batteries

AGM Battery Disadvantages

  • Higher cost

Car Battery Terminology

With So Many Terms, It can be easy to misunderstand

Voltage

A car battery is like a living, breathing machine. It needs to be charged for it can work at its maximum potential - just as we do! The standard automobile battery in today’s vehicles is 12 volts and the voltage of your electrical system will regulate how well you perform on the road. If your charge isn't up to par, get an auto-battery test done soon so that there are no power outages along the way or worse yet: being stranded by yourself among strangers.

Cranking Amps

Amps are the amount of electricity used or produced. You can think of cranking amps as the power provided to start your vehicle. Higher isn't necessarily better. You want an amperage for your engine size.

Cold Cranking Amps

Cold cranking amps (CCA) is just like cranking amps, but this is the measure of amps produced when in a cold environment. CCA refers to the number of amps a 12-volt battery can deliver at 0°F for 30 seconds while maintaining a voltage of at least 7.2 volts. If you are in a colder climate, you might want to look at a car battery with a higher CCA.

Amp Hours

This is the number of amps a car battery can produce for exactly 1 hour.

Battery Type

You will see a variety of types but they really are: Standard (starting) or AGM. You might see AGM listed as Glass Mat.

Reserve Capacity

This is how long your vehicle can run without charge... For example if your alternator goes out. Most car batteries have a 100-120 minute reserve; some batteries have much more. This is a blessing and a curse in the sense that if your alternator fails, you can still drive... But... you may end up in the middle of nowhere when your battery dies.

Car Battery Replacement FAQs

Do I Need To Always Replace My Car Battery?

Not always. A battery test will determine if you simply need a jump or if you need a new battery due to damage.

Are More Expensive Car Batteries Better?

Not always. You want to find a car battery that is best for your vehicle and your climate. You don't always want the most expensive battery with the most amps.

How Do I Prolong The Life Of My Battery?

Make sure you turn off your lights and unplug any charging devices when not in use. Also consider an engine heater in winter as it will reduce the load on your battery.

What Brands of Car Batteries Do You Carry?

We carry all types of Napa auto batteries.
